CresLane Employee Spotlight: Meet Doug Nielsen

We’re thrilled to introduce one of the newest additions to the CresLane team, Douglas Nielsen. Doug will be working as an Account & Support Manager. Doug brings decades of hands-on grocery and retail industry experience, along with a strong passion for retail technology and customer success.

Where are you from?

I was born and raised in Fremont, Nebraska.

What is your job title at CresLane and what do you do day-to-day?

I am an Account & Support Manager. My role focuses on building strong client relationships and ensuring smooth collaboration with our support teams. I also work closely on product development to help shape solutions that truly meet our customers’ needs.

What is your background in grocery/retail?

I’ve spent most of my life in the grocery industry. I’ve worked nearly every job inside a grocery store, which gives me firsthand insight into the challenges retailers face. Eventually, I transitioned into the role of an operational technology specialist, a move that allowed me to combine my store experience with my love for innovative tech solutions.

What is your favorite part of your job?

I love working directly with customers to help streamline operations through technology. Whether it’s developing new tools, finding the right solutions, or helping teams implement and train, seeing the impact we make on their day-to-day business is extremely rewarding.

What are you most looking forward to about joining CresLane?

I’m excited to get hands-on with both our clients and our products, improving efficiencies and delivering tools that make a real difference for retailers.

What are some of your best skills?

Customer relationship building is at the top of the list. I pride myself on understanding client needs and helping them find affordable, effective solutions. I also value people, continuously working to be a more empathetic and supportive leader.

What makes you successful?

I truly love retail technology and I strive to show up as the same person, at work and at home. I believe every relationship, whether professional or personal, requires transparency, consistency, and hard work. That philosophy drives how I support customers and solve challenges.

What do you do outside of work?

I enjoy spending time with my family above all. I love exercising, cooking, and working in the garden. I’m also passionate about travel and sharing new experiences and destinations with my children.
